What We Believe

GOD

 

We believe there is one God, manifested in three Persons – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  We believe in a Trinity in unity, all being co-equal.  The Father loves us and mapped out the plan of redemption for us.  Jesus, the Son, is the Word made flesh, the only begotten Son of the Father and He has existed with the Father from the beginning.  The Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father and the Son and is our Helper, Comforter, Strengthener, Advocate, Intercessor, and Counselor.

THE BIBLE

 

We believe the Bible is God’s Word – it is inspired, infallible, and authoritative.  The Scriptures are a product of God-appointed people who spoke and wrote as they were moved upon by the Holy Spirit.  God’s Word is the standard by which we live and serves to guide our conduct.

REDEMPTION

 

We believe that man was created by God in His image.  Through the sin of Adam, sin entered the world and caused separation of man from God, resulting in spiritual death.  Only by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross can mankind be reconciled with God.  The death and resurrection of Jesus makes it possible for people to have their sin forgiven and removed, become born again, and begin a brand new life in Christ.  This salvation is a gift of God to man; it is provided by God’s grace through faith Jesus Christ.

POWER THROUGH THE HOLY SPIRIT

 

We believe it is every believer’s right to be filled with the Holy Spirit, also referred to as the baptism in the Holy Spirit.  This is a gift from God, promised to all believers by Jesus.  The infilling of the Spirit provides the power to be witnesses for Christ and furnishes believers with access to God’s ability to live for Him and impact others.  The Bible teaches that the filling of the Spirit is received by faith ad is often accompanied by supernatural gifts of the Spirit, including speaking in tongues.

HEALING IS AVAILABLE TO ALL

 

We believe that God desires people to be whole, well, and healthy in every way.  Health and healing is available for the spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical realms of man through the power of God.  Healing is provided for us through the finished work of Jesus Christ and is available to everyone today.

THE GOSPEL IS FOR ALL PEOPLE

 

We believe that Jesus wants everyone to know the good news that He died and rose again in order for them to be freed from sin and have a new life in Him.  God sees all people as precious and valuable; He wants them to have the opportunity to hear of His love for them.  We are commissioned by Jesus to take the gospel to all people-groups throughout the world, starting in our own spheres of influence.  God wants all people to know that Jesus Christ is the Truth, the Life, and the Way, and that no one comes to the Father except through Him.

JESUS IS COMING AGAIN

 

We believe that Jesus has promised to return and that one day He will physically come back to the earth.  We believe we are living in the last days and need to be spiritually ready to be with Him.  When He comes, the dead in Christ will rise first, then we are alive will meet the Lord in the air.  Following the Tribulation, Jesus will return to the earth as King of kings and Lord of lords.  Believers will return with Him and will reign with Christ on earth for a thousand years (the Millennial Reign of Christ).

RESURRECTION AND JUDGEMENT

 

We believe that believers in Jesus Christ will be resurrected to everlasting life in the presence of God forever, enjoying the blessings of Heaven.  The Bible teaches that those who do not know Christ (unbelievers) will be resurrected to everlasting punishment in Hell.  Though Hell was never intended as an eternal dwelling place for man, the rejection of Jesus Christ will result in everlasting separation from God in a place of punishment and torment.

GOD-PLEASING LIFESTYLE

 

We believe that God empowers us to follow the example that Jesus set for us and live a life that pleases God.  The fruit of the Spirit reflects the character of God and should be evident in the lives of His people.  This is a process – a work of God’s grace that requires human cooperation and obedience.  Becoming Christ-like – living a genuine, holy, Christ-centered life – begins at the time of the new birth and continues throughout the Christian life.
